Farmhouse Omelet (Build-Your-Own)

Serves

1 omelet (multiply as needed)

Ingredients

  • 2–3 Rocky Ridge Farm eggs
  • 1 tablespoon milk (optional, for fluffiness)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ¼ cup cooked meat (sausage, bacon, ham, or leftover chicken)
  • ¼ cup chopped vegetables (onions, peppers, mushrooms, spinach, etc.)
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare fillings first.
Cook any raw vegetables in a skillet with a little butter until softened. Warm cooked meats if needed. Set aside.
  2. Beat the eggs.
In a bowl whisk eggs with milk, a pinch of salt, and pepper.
  3. Heat the pan.
Melt butter in a small skillet over medium heat.
  4. Cook the eggs.
Pour the eggs into the pan and let them cook undisturbed for about 30–45 seconds until the bottom begins to set.
  5. Add fillings.
Sprinkle meat, vegetables, and cheese over one half of the omelet.
  6. Fold.
Use a spatula to gently fold the empty half of the omelet over the fillings.
  7. Finish cooking.
Cook another 1–2 minutes until eggs are set and cheese melts.
